Saint John fire crews were called out to Lorneville early last night after a 51 year old man and his ATV got stuck in the mud. Family members and friends who were with him tried but failed to pull him out of the mud.
Acting Platoon Chief Todd Walsh of Saint John Fire says the Argo was brought in to help in the rescue which took a couple of hours. The man was checked over by paramedics and did not suffer any ill effects from his ordeal.
Fire crews later had to extinguish a blaze in a detached garage on Sand Cove Road. The fire did not spread to nearby homes and the cause is under investigation.
City Police report a driver escaped injury after colliding with a moose along the highway.
