The United States Golf Association says golf has lost one of its greats and a true ambassador to the sport.
Arnold Palmer passed away Sunday in Pittsburgh at age 87.
Palmer, who won 95 times worldwide, was part of golf’s big three in the 1960s that included Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.
Palmer’s go for broke style of golf bolstered a legion of fans known as Arnie’s Army.
Known by many as ‘The King’, Palmer won seven majors including The Masters four times.
Palmer was inducted into golf’s hall of fame in 1974 and received the PGA Tour’s Lifetime Achievement award in 1998.
