Drivers in New Brunswick may want to fill up their gas tanks before midnight.
Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says a sizeable jump in gas prices is expected this week.
“You’re looking at a 3.5 cent a litre jump at the pumps. That’s unfortunate given that demand is down and supply is quite plentiful,” he says.
McTeague says prices on the markets spiked after the temporary closure of a critical gas pipeline in the United States.
Meantime, diesel prices are also expected to rise this week by about 1.5 cents per litre.
