A survey of graduates with a bachelor’s degree from 2014 is being launched by the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission. It wants to get information on their further studies, employment, experience with student debt and migration patterns.
About one in eight workers aged 25 to 64 who do have a university degree were overqualified for the work they were doing in 2012 which they were dissatisfied with.
Their work required just a high school education but according to Stats Canada, they also were more likely to have lower literacy and numeracy skills than other grads which mean’t they were only able to handle jobs with limited complexity.
