It appears to be just a matter of time before the historic Jewish synagogue at the corner of Carleton Street and Wellington Row will fall victim to the wrecking ball.
Common Council has voted to declare the property surplus.
The city bought the building for half a million dollars in 2008 as part of the Peel Plaza project. It has tried to find a buyer since to no avail.
Councillors finally decided the city can’t afford any longer to maintain the building.
