Developers of a mega-campground in Shediac have been granted a three-year extension to get started by town council.
The Red Dot Group is opposed to the project fearing increased traffic, the campground’s outflow into Shediac Bay and poor water quality concerns at Parlee Beach.
Spokesperson Tim Borlase says the group is obviously unhappy with council’s decision but vow to continue the fight.
“We’ve been working at this now for two-and-a-half years. We’re not giving up. We’re determined that we have the correct arguments in this case,” he notes.
Borlase says the group plans to write a letter to the planning commission and will contact the Policy Advisory Commission in Fredericton over concerns about how the process unfolded.
He adds they may also seek legal advice.
