Common Council is getting a report tonight that claims the evaluations of the health and environmental risks of the proposed Energy East pipeline are basic and not broad enough.
The report was compiled by Gate Post Risk Analysis which calls for the health impacts of odour from the proposed expanded tank farm in Red Head to be evaluated more thoroughly.
It also claims Environmental Impact Assessments miss out on evaluating any impacts on the quality of life of the people who live in Red Head when it comes to stress, sense of place, community resilience and property values.
Trans Canada argues any oil spill, in the unlikely event it should occur, would be small and of minimal consequence.
