The province contributing a total of $90,000 to make improvements to Loyalist House and to update the business plan for Fort LaTour.
Kathy Wilson of the New Brunswick Historical Society tells CHSJ News people are always asking when they will improve the exterior of Loyalist House.
She says they ask about why they are not painting the outside of the building but she says the first thing they have to do is get the major things taken care of that people can’t see.
That work includes fixing up the roof and the foundation. Wilson tells us that work will begin just as soon as it can be arranged.
Beth Kelly Hatt of the Fort LaTour Development Authority says Fort LaTour is a wonderful story about one of Canada’s first heroines and should be told.
