52 year old Michael Samson of Saint John has received 6 years in jail for walking into an Adelaide Street convenience store and threatening to kill the cashier if she didn’t hand over the money, saying he had nothing left to lose.
The robbery happened back in late May. In a victim impact statement, the cashier said the incident made her more nervous around even her regular customers, and has effected her life negatively.
Samon told the court after so many years in and out of jail, he’s more comfortable inside acell than walking free. Hisrap sheet dates back to 1980, and includes several weapons offences.
