It’s a sad day on the island.
A 17-year-old girl is dead and four teens are injured after a mini-van crashed on Whistle Road on Grand Manan Island, shortly before 9:30pm last night.
Police say the girl, who was a passenger, died at the scene.
The four other teenagers, two boys and two girls, between the ages of 14 and 17, were taken to hospital with injuries.
Police say all five teens are from Grand Manan.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is helping with the investigation in finding the cause of the crash.
