The City is asking you to avoid all City parks and squares until further notice. This includes areas such as King Square, Queen Square, Victoria Square and the Burial Grounds. There are many large trees that have fallen, and continue to fall, in these areas.
Douglas Avenue is blocked by a fallen tree and Bruce Ingersoll of 75 Anthony’s Cove Road has called us to report that 12 trees on his property have been blown over but, fortunately, did not cause any damage.
Once the storm subsides, the trees will continue to present hazards that crews will have to work hard to clean up.
The Queen Square Farmers Market will be cancelled Sunday morning, as crews will be out cleaning the square.
To report any fallen trees on power lines, residents should call 9-1-1.
