Soon after former Conservative M-L-A Bev Harrison announces he’ll be running for the NDP in Hampton, we get word that a disaffected Liberal, John Wilcox will also be running for the New Democrats in Rothesay.
Wilcox lost out on the Liberal nomination last month to Stephanie Tomilson, the Principal at Rothesay High, and then filed a complaint over what he considered to be voting irregularities. That complaint was dismissed by the party.
Meantime, a lawsuit that was launched against Wilcox by Debly Enterprises over his comments about well water during the byelection campaign that saw Ted Flemming win the seat for the Conservatives to replace Margaret Ann Blaney has been dropped.
Wilcox had been a member of a citizens group concerned over changes Blaney had brought in to regulate wetlands.
Wilcox ran for the Liberals and finished second to Flemming with Provincial NDP leader Dominic Cardy coming in third.
