The Board of Governors at the New Brunswick Community College has renewed Marilyn Luscombe’s contract as Chief Executive Officer for another five years.
More than 2 thousand students graduated last year, the largest number ever and Luscombe doesn’t expect the demand to take courses at the community college to lessen.
She says discussions have already taken place with the government and industry about the need for skilled workers with the prospective energy projects and those could lead to a further expansion. Luscombe tells CHSJ News over the last five or six years, the community college has increased its capacity by 900 new student spaces.
She says one of the college’s goals is to provide the opportunity, through e-college technology, to give those people who can’t attend classes fulltime to nevertheless take courses.
90 per cent of the grads work in the province.
