A new methadone clinic has opened in the city—this one is at 333 Main Street in the Port City Pharmacy, and there are no waiting lists for those suffering from opiate addiction to get help.
Pharmacist Richard McLaughlin tells CHSJ News they’re seem some people who were spending a lot of money on illegal street drugs and having serious families issues get things turned around pretty quickly.
Police Chief Bill Reid has endorsed methadone as a huge factor in crime reduction in Saint John. They’ve been open since May 1.
