The United Way switching up their funding model making changes to their granting structure.
Executive Director Wendy MacDermott tells CHSJ News they know things have to change and they have to behave differently to make that happen.
She says the United Way is more than just a fundraiser and they can look at how they partner with corporations and how they engage their workers as volunteers not just donors to their annual campaign.
She says they can re-think the role they play in the community in hopes of seeing the high poverty rate and other sad stats come down.
