Blood donors are needed.
With Canada Day falling on a Wednesday last week, Canadian Blood Services says they noticed many of their donors took an extra long weekend.
Director of Donor Relations Peter Macdonald says they’re in in desperate need of O Negative and A Negative.
O Negative, is the universal donor and only seven per cent of the population have it. It’s the blood type that can be given to people in critical or emergency sitatuation.
He says hospitals are always in need of blood.
Donating blood is easy, and takes about an hour of your time.
