A one-year-old by the name of Landon Rankin collecting money instead of gifts for his first birthday so he could donate the money to the neonatal department at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Landon and his family know first-hand how important the neonatal unit is because he spent ten days there when he was born.
Babies admitted to the unit are premature, have low birth weight, or have a medical condition, such as a heart problem, infection or birth defect, that requires special care.
More than 500 babies are admitted to the unit every year.
