A grease fire creating a busy scene on King Street on a rainy Friday night.
The fire call came in just after 8pm in an apartment at 74 King Street in one of the upper floors on the building.
While it looked like the end of the world with many emergency vehicles clogging up the street, there was no smoke or visible flame.
The smell of smoke was noticable at the back of the building in a laneway off Germain Street.
A young woman living in the building left quickly without shoes and a coat taking shelter in a nearby convenience store with her cats.
A resident also suffering burn injuries to his hand and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The congestion on King Street also causing diners and others who parked there to be stranded for a time.
