Cyclists will set off on their journey in the province this morning, in an effort to raise funds to support the Oncology Clinical Trials Program at The Moncton Hospital.
This is the first ever NB Cycling for cancer event.
Dr. Paul Goobie is one of the doctors taking part.
He says, “I’m a surgeon at the Moncton Hospital and I have cancer patients that I operate on. It’s very important to me and my patients to have a functional clinic, and to have state of the art technology and equipment.”
There are four doctors, two industry reps and several families members and support staff who are taking part. They are cycling more than 500 kilometres, with stops in Sussex, Fredericton, Miramichi and Kouchibouguac.
Their goal is to raise $25, 000 dollars.
