In a hearing set to begin tomorrow, NB Power will ask the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board for approval to raise electricity rates by two percent.
If approved, the date on the rate increase is expected to be determined sometime this summer.
The rate increase would cost an extra $4 per month for the average family and would keep NB Power’s residential rates as the lowest in Atlantic Canada.
The Energy and Utilities Board will host a public session this Wednesday at the Fredericton Convention Centre.
