The Canada Border Services Agency says a man tried to evade officers by swimming across the St. Croix River from Calais to St. Stephen on Saturday, May 30th.
Jordan Nathaniel Richard Paul was caught by the RCMP and charged for failing to appear for an examination upon entering Canada.
Paul was the subject of two outstanding warrants, and was in possession of brass knuckles and pepper spray.
He pleaded guilty in St. Stephen Provincial Court to all charges and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, a $100 penalty on each charge, and is prohibited from owning weapons for 10 years.
