Anglophone South Schools will be getting an influx of new students as Syrian refugees begin arriving in great numbers in Canada this week.
It’s unclear at this point how many students will be coming, when they will arrive and which communities they will go to.
Superintendent Zoe Watson says the District applauds St. Mac’s for hosting their Day of Action on the Syrian refugee crisis.
She says they had a panel discussion, speakers and a refugee camp set up in the gym.
Watson says they would encourage church groups who are sponsoring refugees to get in touch with the District’s International Student Co-Ordinator Lynn MacDonald at the Saint John office.
