Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova has been suspended for 2 years by the International Tennis Federation for using a banned drug, meldonium which is used to improve blood circulation. Meldonium was added to the banned list this year after the World Anti-Doping Agency determined it enhances performance. The suspension has been backdated to start last January 26th because of her admission to the violation when it first came to light.
