Gas prices should remain relatively stable in Atlantic Canada in the near future but that’s not the case in Western Canada.
A senior petroleum analyst says some stations in the Prairies are running out of gas and that is forcing up prices.
Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says the Alberta wildfires and problems at the Suncor refinery in Edmonton have lead to shortages in the West.
“(Shortages) continue but it isn’t disrupting the flow of the other refineries in the area which seem to be barely able to catch up or maintain supplies to most stations,” he notes.
McTeague says the shortages tend to be rotational with some stations running on empty, while others nearby may have a good supply.
