If you’ve been contacted by email or phone by a stranger with an unknown company offering a work-at-home job with an unbelievable salary, it may be just that, unbelievable!
The Maritime Better Business Bureau is warning you to be cautious.
Jody MacArthur of the Better Business Bureau says scammers are trolling around job sites, targetting people looking for work and fishing for your money.
“Their end game is to transfer money back and forth between the victim and the company, and somehow the victim will be out some money,” says MacArthur.
She suggests you ignore any offers demanding money transfers, or jobs offering huge salaries with no experience and requests for personal or financial information.
She also says if you are concerned about a business, phone call, or offer you can call the Better Business Bureau for assistance.
