20-year-old Jesse Reynolds of Hampton has been sentenced to five years in prison for manslaughter in the death of Jessica Ann Miller.
The 20-year-old woman from Apohaqui was reported missing on July 12th and her body was found in woods west of Saint John the following day.
Outside of the Saint John Law Courts, Reynolds’ lawyer David Lutz called it a very sad case with two young people, one dead and one in absolute turmoil.
Court heard that Jessica was choked to death after a heavy night of partying where both Jesse and Jessica drank a lot of alcohol and took a lot of cocaine.
He says hopefully he’ll go to prison and decide just like the judge said to get control of his addictions.
Reynolds is also prohibited from owning weapons and must submit a DNA sample.
He did not get any credit for the four months he has already served in prison.
Lutz thinks Reynolds made end up serving his time in Springhill, Nova Scotia.
It was revealed in court that Jesse Reynolds is the father of one child and will become a dad again in the new year.
