More medical testimony this morning at the inquest into the death of 22 year old Serena Perry at the Regional Hospital in February of 2012.
Psychiatric nurse Claudette Lammers described an incident during which Perry attacked another nurse. She had to be restrained and placed in seclusion but later apologised.
She also told the jury that procedures in the psychiatric unit have been tightened up with cameras everywhere and both the entrance and exit doors are locked with a buzzer system as well as hourly checks.
Another nurse, Marilyn Isaac testified she didn’t believe Perry understood the importance of taking her medication but she never expressed any thoughts about suicide or harming herself.
Delores Ferris described Perry as a sweet girl who loved people and wanted to be loved.
