As we approach the second anniversary of the tragic events of June 4th, the RCMP Memorial is almost complete.
That’s according to City of Moncton Communications Director Isabelle Leblanc.
She says despite a tight deadline, everything is on track for the ceremony in less than two weeks.
“Things are going very well, the site is just about ready, and the sculptures will be arriving soon, and of course everything will be under wraps until June 4th,” says Leblanc.
She adds artist Morgan McDonald included the community.
“We had some thumbprints made up of residents from the community a couple of months ago,” says Leblanc. “And that played a big role into the final pieces, I guess, of the entire sculpture.”
Everyone is welcome to the public ceremony on June 4th behind the Moncton Press Club from 11 to 12.
Representatives from all levels of government are invited, as well as members of the RCMP.
It will also be the last day at work for New Brunswick Commanding Officer of the RCMP Roger Brown before he retires.
