The Victoria Day long weekend in New Brunswick has historically been a deadly one when it comes to driving.
The RCMP say that over the past six years there have been a total of 14 fatal crashes on roadways they police and the only year without a death on this weekend was in 2014. Police say the causes of deadly crashes continue to be not wearing a seatbelt, driving while drunk or high, and going too fast. Staff Sergeant Gilles Blinn of Traffic Services says making the right choices can greately reduce your likelihood of being in a fatal crash.
If you think someone is driving drunk or high you’re asked to called 911.
With the long weekend approaching, SJPF and MADD wish to remind you not to drink and drive.
