The Council of Atlantic Premiers is making progress on reducing barriers to interprovincial trade.
That’s according to business organizations including the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
Atlantic Vice President Jordi Morgan says the Premiers are supporting practical, achievable measures to reduce unnecessary regulation which is reducing productivity and limiting innovation.
Those measures include adopting a One Business, One Number system to eliminate the need for redundant information entering when filling out applications.
As well, all four provinces will come up with a way to standardize the size of carriers in the trucking sector.
Finally, they will also adopt specific Occupational Health and Safety equipment and training standards.
