Young people with business ideas across New Brunswick – from kindergarten through high school to age 35 – have been encouraged to take part in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge.
Among the finalists are 20 teams of young people who will be pitching their ideas to a jury during a gala event next week.
Spokesperson Sarah Short says her team spent three weeks travelling across the province looking for youth with fresh ideas.
“We meet with teachers, we meet with students, we meet with community members and we hear ideas, we hear projects, initiatives and all kinds of different things. Through that, we will give support to those projects,” she notes.
Short adds the winners will receive cash prizes in addition to mentorship opportunities and consultant services.
The Youth Entrepreneurship gala will be held next Wednesday, May 18th, starting at 5-pm at the Crowne Plaza in Moncton.
