New Brunswick has the best internet access in the country, with average download speeds of about 27 megabytes per second.
That’s according to the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.
Opportunities NB Minister Rick Doucet says their success at improving connectivity is the result of partnerships with private sector partners.
Since 2003, the provincial government has invested $18 million with Xplornet communications, and $12.7 million with Bell Canada to improve access for rural homes and businesses.
The province is also investing $8 million over the next two years to build ten new radio towers.
Rogers has also invested $500 million over the last three decades and Bell has spent $60 million to expand its fibre optic network.
Premier Brian Gallant says being leaders in connectivity helps spur economic growth in New Brunswick.
