Does getting a French education have advantages over being unilingual?
The group Canadian Parent’s for French believe it does, and they’re looking to speak to graduates to tell them about their life experiences.
Executive Director of CPF in Prince Edward Island Gail Lecky says they want to find out what the graduates are doing with their language skills, and whether or not they’ve had experiences that they wouldn’t have had if they weren’t bilingual, “Ultimately, we’ll use the information to encourage young students to either take French or stay in French when they see the benefits of the language.”
Lecky says, “I think we all have an understanding that being bilingual is an asset and takes you to different places, and occupations, and gives you different experiences.”
