Canada’s tax deadline is on April 30th of every year, but since it fell on a Saturday this year you now have until midnight today to file your taxes.
Desmond Arsenault of the Canada Revenue Agency says you’ll face penalties added to your return if you miss the deadline.
Arsenault says if your missing any information you should still file on time with an estimate of your income, and then you can request an adjustment in the future.
He says if you owe the government money you should still file on time even if you can’t pay the balance before the deadline.
