Now that Moncton and Dieppe have been awarded the 2021 Games of La Francophonie, a new executive director has been named and will start work in a couple of weeks.
Eric Larocque says the next six months will be critical for hiring staff and volunteers and organizing the games.
Larocque says the sporting and cultural event is open to English, French and First Nations New Brunswickers between 18 and 35.
“Open for all New Brunswickers who will perform and compete in those categories. There are 80 countries that will be joining us in Moncton and Dieppe,” he notes.
Larocque says the 2021 Games will utilize many venues in Moncton and Dieppe including the stadium, the coliseum, and the now-under-construction downtown entertainment centre.
