Voting is underway by special ballot across the province for the May 9th municipal elections.
These ballots are available at the 23 municipal returning offices located across the province.
Chief Electoral Officer for New Brunswick Mike Quinn says it makes voting more convenient, “With election day on Monday, people are busy and can’t often get to the polls until after work, so this method allows people at any time to stop in at the Returning Office and do their voting.”
He notes, it a very simple process, “You can go to any Returning Office in the province, six days a week, and give them your name and address and they will print out a ballot which is appropriate for your address.”
Quinn says these ballots are useful for voters who may live in one area of the province but travel elsewhere to work.
Applications for a special ballot are available online or by contacting your local returning office.
Advance polls are being held on April 30th and May 2nd.
