Fredericton Police received a call this morning about what was thought to be a bobcat sitting in front of St. Dustan’s Church on Regent Street.
The area was quickly blocked off for safety reasons until the Department of Natural Resources arrived.
Upon arrival, the DNR discovered the animal was a lynx.
The cat led police and DNR on a short chase around the downtown area.
The lynx has been caught safely and is now with the Department of Natural Resources.
