A member of the executive of the New Brunswick Police Association is disappointed there’s no commitment by the province to investigate why charges have never been laid in the drive by shooting of City Police officer Chris Messer’s home. 9 bullets were fired into the home in September of 2010.
Labour Analyst Bob Davidson says provincial Justice Minister Stephen Horsman, who’s a former police officer, skirted around the issue when questioned in the legislature, claiming he couldn’t answer because Messer has launched a lawsuit over his criminal prosecution. Davidson argues the drive by shooting has nothing to do with the lawsuit.
He goes on to say police accumulated enough evidence for charges to be laid but nothing was done and he’s now suggesting it appears a coverup is happening.
