Highway 1 near Sussex is back up and running after a transport truck carrying natural gas went off the highway and caught on fire.
Platoon Chief Steve Vautour says fire crews from Penobsquis, Sussex and Petitcodiac were on the scene along with the RCMP.
Vatour says the Saint John Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Emergency Response team was helping remove the containers of natural gas from the area.
He says the fire was located at the rear wheels of the truck.
RCMP tweeted that the highway was closed between exits 195 and 223.
No injuries were reported.
