A petition is being circulated calling on the provincial government to do something about the bridge on Route 870 which can’t be used because of damage caused by the big storm we had on September 30th.
KIngs Centre M-L-A Bill Oliver signed the petition himself but expects to see a modular one lane bridge up temporarily but not for at least another week.
A permanent fix would cost from three-quarters to a million dollars and Oliver doesn’t expect it would be built until well into next year.
In the meantime, the Belleisle Fire Department has come to an arrangement with the Millstream Fire Departmednt to provide any emergency service that might be needed.
