A drug investigation in Oromocto First Nation has led to arrests.
RCMP searched a Waasis Road home on January 16 and seized what was believed to be cocaine, meth, prescription meds, drug paraphernalia and cash.
An investigation into drug trafficking in the community began a week before that.
Five people were arrested at the home:
• A 48-year-old woman from Oromocto First Nation, N.B.
• A 47-year-old man from Burton, N.B.
• A 34-year-old woman from Oromocto First Nation, N.B.
• A 38-year-old man from Geary, N.B.
• A 40-year-old man from Oromocto, N.B.
A 40-year-old man from Oromocto First Nation was also arrested at a residence on Moccasin Lane, in the same community.
The 47-year-old Burton man and the 40-year-old Oromocto First Nation man remain in custody on unrelated matters. The 48-year-old woman from Oromocto First Nation was later released and will appear in court at a later date.
The 34-year-old woman from Oromocto First Nation, the 38-year-old man from Geary and the 40-year-old man from Oromocto, were later released.
