The best players in the Maritime Junior Hockey League will take part in an ‘All-Star’ evening.
It’s being held on Tuesday, February 11 in Edmundston.
Roger Shannon is the President of the Fredericton Red Wings and organizer of the event.
He says it gives the players a showcase opportunity.
“It’s important for the players to be given the opportunity outside of normal league play, to showcase themselves to different scouts, other leagues, colleges and more. That’s what it’s all about,” said Shannon.
There will be two shortened games, the first featuring the ‘Young Guns,’ and the second with ‘Senior Stars.’
Every team in the league will be represented, including all 12 head coaches.
Shannon says Edmundston is the perfect place to host.
“Probably one of the strongest markets in our league, they give their team tremendous support. If there’s a deserving place to host this, it’s Edmundston.”
The Blizzard lead the league in attendance.
Ticket information and rosters will be available in the coming days.
Shannon thanks the title sponsor Metalfab for making this happen.
