If you have holiday travel plans over the next couple of days, they could be impacted by the weather.
A winter storm warning is now in place from Environment Canada for much of eastern New Brunswick.
That includes Moncton and southeastern New Brunswick, Kent County, Miramichi, Fundy National Park and Kouchibouguac National Park.
Environment Canada said between 15 and 25 centimetres of snow is forecast between Friday evening and Saturday evening.
It is the result of a low-pressure system that is expected to travel up the eastern seaboard and track south of Nova Scotia.
Wind gusts up to 70 kilometres per hour may also lead to reduced visibility in blowing snow over exposed areas on Saturday.
Snow is also expected across the rest of southern and eastern New Brunswick but amounts are not expected to be as high.
Saint John, the Kennebecasis Valley, Sussex and Grand Lake are expected to see between 10 and 15 centimetres.
For Charlotte County and Fredericton, snowfall totals are forecast to range from five to 10 centimetres.
The brunt of the snowfall is expected for mainland Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, where up to 40 centimetres could fall in some places.
