Three people suffered critical injuries after a three-vehicle crash in the Moncton area, according to fire officials.
It happened on Route 15 westbound past the Harrisville Boulevard/Dieppe Boulevard overpass around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Capt. Serge Boudreau with the Moncton Fire Department said two of the three vehicles had people trapped inside.
Boudreau said five people were taken to the hospital, including three in critical condition and one in serious condition.
The fifth patient appeared to have minor injuries, the fire captain said in an interview with our newsroom.
Route 15 westbound was closed between the Harrisville Boulevard/Dieppe Boulevard overpass and the Main Street traffic circle until around 4 a.m. Monday.
Codiac Regional RCMP did not immediately respond to a request for comment from our newsroom.
