A key member of the federal Liberals is set to resign from cabinet and not seek reelection.
Nova Scotia MP Sean Fraser will make the announcement on Monday.
Fraser is the minister of housing and has been in heated battles with Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre over the past year.
It comes as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau could announce a cabinet shuffle could take place as soon in the next few days.
Fraser was elected in 2015 after defeating Conservative Peter MacKay in the Central Nova riding.
