Many Saint Andrews residents and businesses may need to boil their water for several days.
The town’s water treatment plant will be taken offline for planned refurbishment next week.
Work is expected to begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 10) and continue until 5 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 11).
“The plant will not be operational during this period, but there should be sufficient water in the reservoirs to meet the town’s needs overnight,” said a news release from the municipality.
Officials said a town-wide boil water advisory will likely be in place for 48 to 72 hours after the maintenance.
Residents are encouraged to draw and store any water needed for consumption purposes ahead of time.
