A woman is facing child pornography charges after police removed several children from a Moncton home this summer.
The 35-year-old woman is charged with possessing, transmitting and making child pornography, as well as sexual assault and sexual interference
RCMP said they received a report from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre on Aug. 28 of recent production of child pornography in Moncton.
Officers went to the home later that same day “after further investigation and confirming that children were at risk,” Mounties said in a news release at the time.
“Upon their arrival, they located children, one of which was in relation to the initial report of production of child pornography.”
A woman was arrested at the scene without incident and the children were removed from the residence by the Department of Social Development.
“It was determined early in the investigation that we needed to locate this individual immediately as the safety of these children was at risk,” Cpl. Hans Ouellette said in the release.
The accused, who was released on conditions after her arrest, will appear in court at a later date.
