A 37-year-old man was sentenced to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to several sexual assault charges tied to incidents in the Moncton and Edmundston areas.
The case began in June 2023 when RCMP received a report related to a historical assault in Moncton.
Following an investigation, police found evidence suggesting multiple incidents occurred over the last decade (dating back as far as 2010), with some involving the use of a noxious substance.
The investigation expanded as more victims came forward.
The court ordered him to register as a sex offender and imposed restrictions upon his release, including limits on contact with minors and bans from certain locations like schools and parks.
Officials continue to investigate and urge anyone with relevant information to contact local police.
