New Brunswick’s premier-designate says she plans to get to work quickly once sworn in.
Susan Holt said there are a couple of things the Liberal government will jump on right away.
“We want to make sure we can deliver relief by taking that 10 per cent tax off their power bills, by getting a rent cap in place as quickly as possible, by taking that four cents off the price of gas,” Holt told reporters after her win.
Those were some of the key priorities the Liberals ran on during the 32-day election campaign.
Holt said they are committed to working hard for all New Brunswickers — whether or not they voted Liberal.
“We will work our tails off to honour the trust they put in us and to deliver real results and real improvements to their health care, to their cost of living, to our education system for them,” she said.
All MLAs and the Liberal cabinet will be sworn in at the legislature in Fredericton on Saturday, Nov. 2.
