A third person will represent New Brunswick at the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Track and field athlete Craig Thorne has been selected to compete in the men’s 110-metre hurdles.
The Quispamsis was nominated to compete last week after winning his second national title just days earlier.
Thorne will be the first male athlete from New Brunswick to play for Team Canada at the Olympics in 24 years. The last person to do it was Joël Bourgeois in 2000.
More recently, short-track speed skater Travis Jayner, who hails from Riverview, won a bronze medal for Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Thorne will be joined by two fellow New Brunswickers: swimmer Brooklyn Douthwright and dressage rider Jill Irving, both from the Greater Moncton area.
The Games take place from July 26 to Aug. 11.
